If you've formed a company, consider keeping it alive. I don't do a lot of side work now, but there was quite a long tail of follow-on work for my past clients that continues to this day. Having the legal entity, bank accounts and such still alive doesn't cost too much and having them has been helpful both with the tax man and in dealing with former customers.
