I think technology is more accessible to people, and even if the general public doesn't understand it they at least feel they can refuse to participate. But it's hard to avoid a bank account and the finance industry manipulates the economy in secretive or abstract ways, which makes them distant and incomprehensible.

Hahaha... the finance industry manipulation is "distant and incomprehensible?". Tech is simpler? LOL... If so why is there such a backlash among ordinary Americans regarding finance? As for Ms Warren, she is a clever politician in the Obama mode -- nice speeches (in her case tough sounding ones), berate public officials publicly, pretend to stand up for ordinary people, get good airtime. This is a woman who should have taken on Hillary Clinton and would have a solid chance of trashing her. At the very least, she should have come out solidly as a Sander's supporter. In fact, a Sanders-Warren ticket would have seen the GOP lose with a huge margin. In the end it is just talk and high falutin' drama, nothing has changed. The bankers are still at it, decent economists are warning we are back to 2008 levels of risk. But now that the finance berating ship has sailed, she is focusing on tech. A sore disappointment. Heck, I would even go as far as to echo the "Goofy" name tag.
