- timboisvert 10y agoA Haskell mention would've completed the HN trifecta.
- juped 10y agoShow HN: A Haskell.js webapp to compute basic income levels under different hypothetical AI rapture scenarios
- brobinson 10y agoI think Phoenix/Elixir has dethroned Haskell.
- PeCaN 10y agoOr Go or Rust. But Phoenix/Elixir does seem to be the new thing. Not that I mind, always happy for the Erlang platform to get more attention.
- tome 10y agoAnd an honourable mention for Georgist land taxation.
- askafriend 10y agoClassic HN: Trying to capture the depth of topics like Basic Income and AI by sprinkling them over two sentences. Kidding :)
- daveguy 10y agoTo be fair, the urgency of figuring out whether basic income will work is largely driven by the concern that the number of available jobs will be reduced due to AI (or automation in general). Reduced job availability is about the only legitimate current concern (sub 30 years) of present day AI advances. It makes sense they are discussed in the same comment to an article about whether we have dealt with the influence of the equivalent of AI for thousands of years through efficiency and specialization.
