Just to clarify, by contrast my Nexus 5x behaves by requiring password input very early in the boot process, before any network connection. There is a substantial post-password boot process taking place.
This new phone boots ALL the way up, then provides a password input dialog.

- g1dv5ek8ctfymm0 10y agoThanks, you're correct that I had two services with rights under Settings-->Accessibility. LastPass and Twilight. I have turned them both off, but do not see how to manually re-enable the pre-boot password prompt.
- g1dv5ek8ctfymm0 10y agoOh, I got it, Settings-->Security-->Device Security-->Screen Lock. Opening that item generates a message asking you if you wish to enable password at boot.
- tacomonstrous 10y agoYup. Also, you can keep the services on and turn this setting on after enabling them.
