I have passed the 101 Mandarin course. Learning a linguistic language rather than a technical one is an interesting challenge. Professionally I think it has had a slight effect as a thing on my resume but I work in international logistics - I don't use it directly for my job but it shows something I guess. It makes waiters in Chinese restaurants smile when you say thanks.
