At this point why not just have a Linux system on your local network and connect with VNC from Windows...? You can have a Linux environment to hack around in while getting to use all the "nice" Windows GUI apps.
- hiram112 10y agoVNC has never been near as fast as even Remote Desktop, and even that is pretty slow for anything more than basic administration. Maybe in a local lan it would work better, but I doubt considering it's slow even in a VM on a powerful workstation. It's getting to the point where I'm thinking about using a Windows laptop and Linux desktop with a KVM switch, but then I'm not portable.
