Wow. You got really personal there. Where's dang when you need him? Insults aside, that's not true at all.
I don't feel like I want to respond to you because you're probably just going to insult me some more.
- coldtea 10y agoSorry, it's you who wrote: >Most people buying Apple products are doing so because of Apple's brilliant marketing This is essentially calling millions of people as sheep that only fall for marketing (you even added that all the technical details I mentioned don't matter "one bit"). I just called it out. Sorry, but I don't believe people don't weight the cons and pros of what they buy, based on their own experiences, preferences and use cases. For clothes and fashion maybe it's mainly marketing -- they are quite shallow to begin with (even though fashion itself is not exactly marketing, it's a desire to hit points for yourself by being fashionable). I don't believe people buy and stick with computer platforms for years on end, and do professional work on them, out of pure marketing. I don't believe it for cars, and I don't believe it for laptops either. Besides did all those awards and top places in technical reviews over the years come from reviewers falling for "marketing" too? Or are we going to call all of them shills?
- dang 10y ago"Self-grandeur pissing on millions of people as idiots while you alone are smart enough to see through the illusion" may not have been strictly personal, since it's mostly about the form of the argument, but WayneBro does have a point. It crosses into incivility, and that's bad. (But I appreciate that you mostly don't do that anymore; it makes a big difference to this place.)
