I'm willing to take you at your word that the site is filled with appalling things. It certainly looks appalling, and the few discussions I read appeared to be irritating people being irritated with the world. But what evidence is there that the structure of the hiring practices is what attracted these people? My unsubstantiated hunch is that Wall Street professionals might be there because they're after money or prestige, not because they're inevitably attracted by the hiring methods.
