‘Tech tax’: San Francisco mulls plan for taxing the rich to house the poor
- teslaberry 10y agoI think this is a great idea for funding the universal basic income that will be offered to all people in california. universal basic income , or welfare for everyone, is the only solution to the technological unemployment problem that is being directly caused by the technology industry in California. After all technology growth in the central cause of gdp contraction and poverty in those afflicted by technological unemployment, which is most nearly everyone who doesn't have a good high paying job with much more than the paltry 15$ an hour minimum wage that California thoughtlessly passed into law. it only seems fair that they contribute their fair share to the universal basic income as the money must come from somewhere right? I mean, money doesn't grow on trees or come out of nowhere , it is created by the technology industry. they have it. i know y combinator loves universal welfare because it's such an appropriate solution to solve poverty that is caused by technology , so i'm certain they are probably the ones reccomending this tax behind the scenes, and if not, they are most assuredly on board with it and fully supporting it. as warren buffet said, he'd like to pay more tax, but the government is not letting him. and we know warren buffet is the very purest snow white of innocent hard working productive capitalists, so to of course is the entire tech industry of california. and so too i expect that will support measures to tax them more. after all, aren't unicorn valuations high enough? I"d like to see them double or triple myself, but cannot we see some small increase in tax for the universal basic welfare solution?
