- hammock 10y agoCoke and Pepsi exclusive agreements with restaurants and other venues are like the oldest ones in the book.
- dhimes 10y agoAgree. However, they bid for them- unless it's a chain owned by one of them. I would hope that if they unfairly used some leverage or provided kickbacks to the restaurant companies then there would be legal consequences. Sure, a landlord can’t enter into an exclusive agreement granting just one ISP the right to provide Internet access service to an MDU, but a landlord can refuse to sign agreements with anyone other than Big Company X, in exchange for payments labeled in any one of a zillion ways. So we can either stop it now or not. It's our society. We can make the laws to help or hurt. Perhaps the landlords should be allowed to skim. And gas, electricity and water, as well. But I would vote against it.
