What do you think about Xiaomi mi pad? Worth a buy at the moment?

I'm considering buying this tablet, but would like to know your opinion about the same. The specs are all wonderful and I can also live with the fact that KitKat (4.4.4) is the only OS installable on it, provided the company provides the OTA updates regularly. My only other concern is there is neither sim card, nor support for USB Dongle. Is it possible to add USB Dongle support without rooting? I don't like the thought of buying a tablet and then immediately rooting it to gain an extra feature. I'd prefer a lot if that were possible without rooting.
