A reasonable strategy, so long as one accepts from the outset that no human could be a sufficiently competent dictator, and even if occasionally someone was 'close enough' then succession crises would de-stabilise the system. We need to design and build our own benevolent dictator, and then keep it running and upgraded as needed :-)
