This is a false dichotomy I hear often.
There can still be social safety nets for citizens without the need to support free movers.
- SilasX 10y agoThat third option isn't as viable as you might think -- it leads to a dissatisfied, cohesive underclass that likes to agitate for big change, often returning to the "freebies for everyone" option.
