Typesafe SQL queries for Java, why have I descovered this gem so late?

I stumbled upon jooq (http://www.jooq.org/) about 2 months ago and decided to use it in my new project (Spring Boot based) and could not be happier. So easy to use, and so pleasant. I find that for the most things I do not need to search the net for the solutions, I just type SQL-ish java code as I would ordinary SQL and it just works as I expect. And I also get type safety at compile time which is sooo nice. Much more pleasant to use than Hibernate or MyBatis (I have experience with those).
