I think that is ridiculous. Last time I had a mild dental surgery I asked my dentist how many such operations she had performed and how many she had botched up. She not only very patiently and willingly answered by questions but also told me that she had a failure rate of 12% which was industry standard.
If dentists, car mechanics and your local gun dealer refuses to answer question there is the good chance they really dont know their own shit.
- Bombthecat 10y ago12% ? Oh wow... I will never visit a dentist again :(
- AnimalMuppet 10y agoThat's for dental surgery, not for filling a cavity. But yes, if I were considering dental surgery, I'd certainly want to know that number...
- tn13 10y agoThat is for a specific type of dental surgery. Also the failure does not mean the patient dies. It means allergic reactions, second operation requires, fractured tooth etc. To give you an example in some cases the bone is so weak that they have to use a Cow's bone marrow to fill it. In some people the body rejects this and hence another surgery is required where a person's hip bone marrow is used.
