This seems like 1) a communication problem and 2) an attitude problem, from the OP, more than anything else. It seems like the OP is insistent on his own way of being evaluated, but hasn't informed these interviewers or recruiters ahead of time, or even try to discuss it (hence a communication problem): > I just packed up and left. Given the above, I think it's unfair to use this particular anecdote fuel against the tech recruitment system (although I agree it is flawed), because those companies might have complied with OP's desires had he communicated them or handled the situation with a better attitude.
