It looked like he was putting in 4+ hours per day. He implemented all of these algorithms in code. I think it's pretty amazing. It took me about the same amount of time to implement a B+ tree variant for my Data Structures class in college. Pretty impressive on his part. Either that or I'm unimpressive ;)
