Because almost everyone involved in Ethereum also invested in "the DAO", so they're taking a mulligan.

- mjfl 10y agoIt's really annoying to think that they are going to get this bailout now though, while in the future they are surely going to thumb their noses at anyone who makes similar contract mistakes. The ability to see a contract through to it's full intent should not depend on your social proximity to the Ethereum development team.
