As someone who used to use mRemote everyday, all day long (change of jobs since then and the work I do now doesn't require it) I can say that mRemote(ng) is super stable, especially considering what it does. And I used the app more than any other on my computer, apart from Chrome, and it rarely had any crashes. The fact that it had barely any updates for years but was still so stable is a testament to how well it was written, regardless of it being written in VB. And just because a language is used for teaching and not necessarily designed for super robust applications, doesn't mean something written in it isn't useful or dependable.
