The US outspends the next top 20 countries in defense spending combined. But I'm thinking this figure is wrong. If it costs the US $20 billion to build a super carrier, what would the same thing cost for China (which doesn't have to deal with high pension costs and labor?) Probably $5 billion or less. And if these other countries are spending their money on more effective weapons, where does that leave the US?
