Tulip mania's peak period lasted 6 months or so. Bitcoin has been growing for 7 YEARS. Why? Bitcoin solves a lot of real world problems. Tulips don't. At least ~50 international financial institutions have R&D groups directly working with block chains / Bitcoin (search "R3CEV partners"). Central banks have reported positively on Bitcoin .
