Yes, I am glad about this blog too. Lee Smolin's 2006 book 'The Trouble with Physics' first alerted me to this, since I am not a string theorist, and I like to read about the applied physics going on instead. I would like to read the theoretical math, but my mind can only deal with beginning grad-level math at most. Nonetheless, I like to burn some wood and try at times. I just don't want to waste it on what is seeming to be more and more of a rabbit hole.
