I use the following OpenVPN docker container on my homeserver: https://github.com/kylemanna/docker-openvpn https://github.com/kylemanna/docker-openvpn I then send all of the logs to Loggly and get notified anytime someone connects to my OpenVPN server.

Same here. Simple. I use it more for connecting to resources behind NAT then as an anonymizing proxy.
