- jklinger410 10y agoI really wish companies would stop redefining things like AI just for marketability. It's leading people to believe that real AI programming is occurring regularly.
- CaptSpify 10y agoWould there be a better term for this? I know nothing of AI, but it seems like it should still be categorized as AI, but at a much lower level?
- WorldMaker 10y agoI remember this discussion from school. Textbooks have defined most of the experiments and tools of the AI boom of the '60s as "AI": things like neural nets and even basic "expert systems" such as today's phone trees. Individually, these things aren't really AI, but even today most of them are fundamental component parts in the larger discussion... What is the "atomic theory" of AI? Are all of these pieces and components evolutionary explorations into AI or something less or something different? What do we call them along the way other than just "AI"?
- Duhck 10y agoIt's machine learning and NLP which is not AI (and thus I agree)
