The problem is a system where pieces of paper are sent by mail (often with addresses mis-spelled), and the supposed recipient is in trouble for not responding.
There needs to be a better system.
- knodi123 10y agoThere is, it's called registered mail. And there's a better solution than that, too- it's called a process server. All of them are vulnerable to corrupt middle-men, but the article doesn't really say what method was used to contact the defendant, so there's really nothing to speculate about.
