I agree that the tax code needs to be fixed (or a total overhaul more like it.) But cheaters are going to cheat, thieves are going to thieve. If it was truly a "postcard" taxation system (your entire tax forms could fit on a postcard), people will still feel the need to hide money from Uncle Sam, business partners, spouses, etc. For example, look at every other law on the books. They're broken all of the time. (See: the US Financial Industry)
