I'm not OP, but they said "We are building huge single page application" For SPAs, it is not uncommon to use CSS to hide multiple controls (or what would otherwise be entire pages) from the user but leave it in the DOM so you can reveal them as needed. Deciding to hide a DOM subtree vs destroying & rebuilding is a performance balancing act.
