I find the dichotomy between simulation and reality a bit absurd. A simulation is just as real as the reality that hosts it, and it only differs in it's fidelity to the inspiration. The same can be said about fractals. Let's assume we do live in a computer simulation. Then what? The fact that this knowledge doesn't change a single thing about the way we should do things means that it's not particularly interesting or useful. The same is true regarding the debate of free-will.
