This is wrong.
Even if the 3-4 stories currently on the site are 100% true (they all read as if they were written by the same person; perhaps the same editorial voice?), they don't appear to constitute rape, or even sexual assault. Boorish, offensive behavior, but not criminal acts.
I've known Jacob for 13 years, and he doesn't strike me as a rapist. A raconteur, sure; a bit of an egoiste, sure. But not someone who would be predisposed to force himself on anyone for sex, and not someone who is possessed by the callousness, rage and desire to subjugate which characterizes rapists.
If anyone genuinely believes she was raped or sexually assaulted by Jacob Appelbaum, she should file criminal charges and consider suing him, as well. But this kind of online vigilantism and anonymous, virtual mob 'justice' is not how civilized people ought to behave.
The whole thing smacks of orchestrated revenge for a perceived slight, real or imagined. And it isn't right way to handle allegations of serious criminality.
