Social Media are like TV Shows, and Facebook is like the HBO of Social Media.
One day something else will come up and capture "young people's" attention and Snapchat will have a slow, painful MySpace-esque death.
This is the price you pay when you don't have anything real to offer to the world, and instead trade on shear popularity alone.
- dmamills 10y agoI believe this is true to a degree. But I believe what differentiates this comparison of the shift from Myspace to Facebook, is that Snapchat embraces the concept of ephemeral sharing. Ephemeral sharing I believe will be a huge part of the future of social media as the younger generation becomes more aware of the effects of the permanence of the internet.
