What if the main character was some karate-prodigy that didn't know it until he found his master? This is not completely unheard of.

- runT1ME 17y agoBJ Penn (now a UFC champion) trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 4 years before he won the world championships. Most people take 8-10 years to receive a black belt, and then a year or two to become competitive on the world level. I don't think its unheard of that a very talented kid could find a fantastic teacher and excel in a city-wide tournament.
- roundsquare 17y ago1) I think the point is that he wasn't. It was a movie about how his hard work got him to the point to win the tournament. 2) If he was, they would have said so. 3) Because people love movies about prodigy kids training for two months and beating someone who worked hard for years? Yeah, very uplifting, thats why we all remember this movie so fondly.
