It's fairly clear that deep learning isn't going to yield Strong AI Real Soon Now.
If it's profitable, it will be sustainable anyway.
- PeterisP 10y agoYup, the major difference between deep learning and e.g. expert systems is not about the near-future enabling of General AI but that expert systems didn't really work for practical narrow, niche AI/ML tasks in a commercially usable quality but deep learning does so in many areas.
