African American male here, living in a major and supposedly progressive city (Washington). Just last night, I was trying to hail a cab. I was in a predominately black and poor neighborhood. Two obviously empty cabs saw me and kept driving. The third stopped for me, but made me tell him my destination before letting me in. After I told him, he said, "are you sure?". Not a huge deal isolated, but this type of minor discrimination really gets old.
