The only thing wrong with this is that they knew ahead of time and changed their plans to cancel instead of cancelling/denying at the start. It is people sharing their homes they should be able to deny anyone for any reason. It's not like their house is a public service that everyone needs. I've used AirBnB several times. If you're there for any appreciable amount of time that isn't one night, these people will vet you and interview you beforehand and if they don't like you they will deny it. There is nothing wrong with that. Who's to say this guy didn't have an iffy review that he doesn't know about?
