A few months ago (before I had to watch money extra carefully), I was looking to make something similar to the Core by removing the strap of the pebble and dremmeling a hole into the mount and making it into a keychain. It seemed like the perfect thing if paired with a bluetooth dumb phone. Everyone called me crazy for wanting to do it, but it looks like that market actually exists - without a screen, even.
