It seems to me that if everyone followed the kind of pragmatism that this post argues for, nothing new would ever be adopted.
- knieveltech 10y agoOnly if the new thing legitimately and very clearly solved a real problem that presented a credible barrier to work. That's a very high bar to clear when creating a new programming language.
- angersock 10y agoThat would be a feature not a bug. Every developer should be forced, I believe, to read Arthur C.
