Absolutely, and these parties are posing as a solution to whatever the current problem happens to be (populism).
People looking for simplification, maybe because they are unable to understand more complex situations, tend to go for the shallow, simple-looking, party.
- ThomPete 10y agoAnd people who are well educated seems to like complex systems for the sake of it. The world is literally filled with academics who loved and proposed complex systems to the detriment of the rest. It should come as no surprise that a combination of EU and the recent influx of refugees and immigrants is causing a reaction when people don't feel they get heard.
