This blog post is obviously born out of frustration. I'd be interested in learning the circumstances. At a certain stage in life it's indeed frustrating that employers try to get more working hours out of you than they are paying for, and younger professionals seem to be more willing and able to. I'd like to offer OP the view that these places aren't generally good places to work anyway. Don't agree with some other commentors who lightly throw big words like racism around.
