This horribly misinformed person laments the seeming impossibility for him, a Windows user, to convert his iPhone Voice Notes from AAC into another format (I suppose mp3).
Although not actually clear in his rant, I suppose that he is one of the majority of people who translate the acronym 'AAC' as 'Apple Audio Codec' (or something similar) whereas it means 'Advanced Audio Coding' and is a standardized format. So the main argument of his rant, that Apple uses closed formats in its walled garden, already fails at the beginning - as AAC isn't proprietary at all (Albeit there is tons of proprietary stuff if it comes to other Apple technologies, but funnily enough not this).
It ain't Apple's fault, if most crappy Windows Audio software (or whatever he's using, most pro Software, like Cubase or what should support AAC fine), doesn't implement a standardized format.
Anyways, if he thinks that Audacity is the wrong solution (short side-note, Audacity can create mp3 files just fine, but I fear couldn't find the necessary LAME plugin) for his problem, there's always ffmpeg:
ffmpeg -i fuckfile.aac fuckfile.mp3
The thing is, if you're in for a rant, you should go and check the facts first. Or use Google.
