Provocatively naive - does anyone nowadays really think the brain Works like a computer? A much more interesting focus is on non-representationalistic understandings of the world seen in the discussion.
- UK-AL 10y ago"Provocatively naive - does anyone nowadays really think the brain Works like a computer? " It's the most widely accepted theory. It's just not computer in the way you think a computer works.
- deadfece 10y ago"Computer" used to be an occupation for humans. In The New York Times was February 3, 1853, an obituary stated: "Mr. Walker was widely known as an accomplished Astronomer and a skillful Computer." So to claim that the very thing which enables us to be a computer, is not a computer, might simply be short-sighted or trying to be absurd.
