I'm not sure I agree on IBM. I heard horror stories from folks at Watson, supposedly their big future money maker, complaining that they couldn't hire competitively due to salaries and work environment. In NYC they're around the corner from companies like Google which manage to pay people well, and have all the perks. Of course I agree - show me the money. But not everyone else thinks that way.
