I don't think it's just the "internet services" that they need to take more seriously. Ever since I bought my iphone (about 1 week ago) I've had an itch to write a blog post about my first experiences using their Clock app... Their CLOCK app :)
- matt4077 10y agoActually, the clock is the only app I use Siri for – it always works and takes about 1/6 of the time.
- gboss 10y agoI think you're actually validating the GP's point that the clock app UI is so cumbersome it's better to get SIRI to deal with that mess for you.
- JimmyAustin 10y agoSiri is actually the perfect interface for a clock app. It needs only a limited grammar, IE: (set|stop) clock (for|at) ([0-9])(AM|PM) which improves recognition, as opposed to scrolling through wheels to select the right time as you would with a GUI.
- billyhoffman 10y agoPossibly. But even if the clock app was simply a single "start timer" button (or whatever function the GP was using) simply getting to the app can be Slow. Compare "take Out phone, unlock phone, find clock app, open app, do whatever" with just saying "hey Siri set a timer for 5 mins" or "take out phone, press and hold home button, tell Siri to start a timer"
- nailer 10y agoYou'll end up with 80 alarms though.
- mjlee 10y agoMy fiancée has this problem. There's a Siri command to "delete all my alarms".
- lanna 10y agoPlease do, I'd like to read that
- coldtea 10y agoYeah, so what about their CLOCK app? I've been using it every day since 2007. Does it not do something you'd want it to do?
- datashovel 10y agovibrate-only alarms don't work. The UI allows you to set no sound, and choose a vibrate pattern, but it doesn't trigger when it's supposed to. I learned that you have to create and load a "silent.mp3" file and select that sound for the alarm in order to get vibrate-only alarms to work.
