my general take on this is that we are ready to go with online voting when it is as secure as paper based voting. honestly, we're not there yet, but it is something i expect to see in the relatively near future.
- dexterdog 10y agoHow is this not more secure? This actually has a chance at being an accurate vote count while we know that the current system can never be accurate.
- PeCaN 10y agoLet me know when we go a week without a security breach, and I'll let you know when online voting can be secure.
- dexterdog 10y agoHow has the track record on old fashioned voting been? Do we require a perfect replacement or a better one?
- debracleaver 10y agoi would go for better over perfect.
- PeCaN 10y agoWhile conventional voting is far from great, the first time someone hacks an online vote is going to set it back for decades. It could be better now, but it almost has to be perfect to get people to switch.
