Yeah, I'm not exactly a huge fan of cubicles either, but I definitely consider it the lesser of two evils if I had to choose between cubicles and open offices.

Yeah, I'm not exactly a huge fan of cubicles either, but I definitely consider it the lesser of two evils if I had to choose between cubicles and open offices. Private offices would be amazing, of course, but it's not realistic to expect most startups to be able to provide one for every developer given the real estate market in SF.
