I think it is because OpenSSL changes the API frequently and it'll break things in subtle ways. I may be wrong, but this is not a problem with dynamic linking

I think it is because OpenSSL changes the API frequently and it'll break things in subtle ways. I may be wrong, but this is not a problem with dynamic linking but with OpenSSL as a project.
