I paid attention at the time, but has since repressed most of it. While torching the platform made me bitter about the tech industry, it was also that very few people even cared. It even gave the iPhone a match [0]. The industrial design was great, had sleek UI and clever UX. And that's not even the more technical features. Yet people mostly went on about how great Android was. When Ubuntu then went on to argue over desktop icons (or whatever) while there was a huge hole left by the mac pro, I pretty much gave up on user facing Linux (in the broader sense). Switched all my desktop os and development to windows and haven't looked back since. [0] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP-SSg_zZ1M https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cP-SSg_zZ1M
