If Uber is not going to allow tips, but drivers are going to pressure for cash tips, I might as well take a regular cab. At least in a regular cab, tipping is expected AND I can add the tip in on my credit card. So with Uber, now my choices are either to tip make sure that I am carrying small bills so that I can do so, or not tip and risk getting a "low rating" (whether I should care about that is another question.) No thanks. Uber should either crack down on tips, or just put them in the app. Of course, cracking down on tips would probably require that Uber actually allow drivers to make decent money, which they are not interested in.
