Totally agree. I'm really sad to see Tesla jump the gun on this one and claim they have "autopilot". It seems similar to the debate around landing New Shepard / Falcon 9, except here the false claims and half-baked implementation could set self-driving cars back by another 5 years.
- sokoloff 10y agoAre you worried about them setting self-driving back by 5 years versus a base case where Tesla didn't exist, or setting it back 5 years versus the 20 or so years of advancing and popularizing the possibilities that they've done?
- 746F7475 10y agoIsn't autopilot appropriate name? Like autopilot in planes doesn't just fly the whole plane and do everything needed.
