That amount of money is a lot in countries like Vietnam, Thailand, etc. You could easily get yourself a 2-bedroom place and cooked-meals everyday for less than that.
- chrisfosterelli 10y agoYeah, simply taking a bit more initiative to manage those things yourself could easily save you 75% of what they are paying... As someone who has done some travel while working, I'd say it sounds very cool in theory but the price you're paying to have them manage your accommodation and office space is way too high.

- thaumasiotes 10y agoYou can rent a 2-bedroom apartment and eat out every day in Shanghai for well under $2000 / month, and it's become known in China for "absurdly high" real estate prices. (I believe that's focused mainly on purchase prices, which I have never even looked at. But hopefully rents are related to purchase prices.)
