While the post is good, the submission title is a quote taken out of the context to optimize for clicks (at the time of writing: John Gruber: “JavaScript has brought the web to the brink of ruin”).
The real title is: "The New York Times on Apple's Dominant Position in Podcasting". As per HN guidelines, the original title should be left whenever possible.
Regarding the post itself, how are they going to utilize the data? Everyone is talking about big data, analyzing data and all but how would it be applicable for podcasts, where the content can't be personalized as it can be for websites and apps?
